The Stars in Their Eyes charity event, in which members of the public take to the stage to impersonate showbiz stars, is set to raise money for Francis House Children’s Hospice.
Ten brave contestants will be transformed into a pop legend, rock icon or diva, before delivering a show-stopping performance on March 29.
With seven out of the ten places already snapped up, organisers are wanting to hear from three more supporters to brave the spotlight at The Bowdon Rooms, Altrincham.
Zeffi Johnson, event organiser of Francis House has even agreed to take to the stage herself, hoping to inspire others to do the same.
Zeffi said: “We are thrilled to be bringing Stars In Their Eyes for Francis House to The Bowdon Rooms. If I can do it anyone can. It’s going to be an incredible evening and we’re looking for our final three contestants who can commit to raising sponsorship and filling a table of ten with their guests.
“Fundraising events like these are crucial to keeping the doors of Francis House open and every ticket and table sold will help towards the running of our services supporting the families of children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.”
Francis House provides high levels of clinical care in a home from home environment and supports more than 600 families of seriously ill children. It costs approximately £13,150.00 a day to run the hospice services including respite care, homecare, day care, end of life care, emotional support and bereavement support.
The inspiration for the fundraising event came from the popular 90s television show Stars In Their Eyes which featured contestants transforming into their musical icons.
The evening is hosted by DJ Tom Finkill who will also crown the winner. A makeup artist will be on hand to help with finishing touches and a silent auction will be held with pledges towards funding of the salary of a hospice nurse.
Tickets are priced at £700 for a table of ten or £70 for an individual ticket, which includes a glass of fizz on arrival and a delicious variety fo canapes and street food.
The event will take place on Saturday 29th March at The Bowdon Rooms, Altrincham WA14 2TQ.
